New ECC Import Control System
As of January 1, 2011, a new anti-terror regulation, ICS - Import Control System, will come into force. The regulation will have an impact on all imports into the EEC.
The purpose of the import control system is to provide the basis for risk-based input controls on goods arriving from third countries into the EEC, primarily for security and safety reasons to prevent importation of goods that pose a threat to security, public health, environment or consumers.
